Grace Spulak, JD, is a Senior Court Management Consultant with the National Center for State Courts. Prior to NCSC, Ms. Spulak was the Director of the New Mexico Commission on Access to Justice where she led a number of innovative court projects aimed at improving the civil justice system for self-represented litigants, including implementing and overseeing New Mexico’s eviction diversion program, developing court navigator pilots, providing training and technical assistance to self-help centers across the state, implementing equity initiatives for the Commission, and designing stakeholder and court user feedback mechanisms for the judiciary and the Commission. Ms. Spulak has presented on Access to Justice issues in national forums. Prior to her work with the Access to Justice Commission, Ms. Spulak did child welfare and child advocacy work for ten years, designing and implementing system reform programs, representing children and youth in trial and appellate proceedings, and performing legislative advocacy. Ms. Spulak has also trained stakeholders nationwide on issues related to child advocacy. Ms. Spulak currently acts as an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law where she teaches Children and the Law. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and was a Skadden Fellow.
