Jay Dardenne completed a thirty-five (35) year career in public service in 2023.
He served for eight (8) years as Louisiana's Commissioner of Administration, the State's chief administrative, financial and operating officer.
He was elected statewide four (4) times, twice as Secretary of State and twice as Lieutenant Governor. He served fifteen (15) years as a State Senator and three (3) years as a Baton Rouge Metro Councilman.
He created, wrote and hosted the Emmy-nominated film "Why Louisiana Ain't Mississippi or Anyplace Else," a four-hour documentary for Louisiana Public Broadcasting, and authored the coffee table book that accompanies the show.
He has received numerous leadership awards and is a member of six (6) Halls of Fame, including the LSU Hall of Distinction and the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame.
